Living textures.
Aleksander Cecco is born to tell what is slowly being forgotten: nature and its unpredictable forms, its textures, its imperfect perfection. The project lives between alchemy, esotericism and the primal link between human being and nature.
We call our pieces "Creature" because for us they are living. Living textures. Entities with their own breath, born from the earth and worn on the body.
In 100% vegetable-tanned leather, handcrafted in South Italy. Every process is Artisan. A work of repetition, patience, and precision. This is what makes every piece similar, but never identical.
The project began as an experimental line by Ferdressed, between the knowledge and vision of the two creators, Ciro Cecco and Ferdinando Palmieri.
Naples. The brand is born here and has not left. What it is made of comes from an hour up the road, which is not a principle about distance, only where the material happens to be.
The leather comes from Solofra, an hour from Naples, where hides have been tanned for centuries. It is chosen there one hide at a time. That is the slow way, and the only way to know what a skin is before it becomes a garment.
Solve et coagula. Dissolve, and bind again. Rubedo is the reddening, the last stage of the work. It is also a shirt.
The leather
The tanning is vegetable, with bark, leaves and roots, and it takes weeks. No chrome salts are used. The hides come from Solofra, an hour from Naples, where leather has been tanned for centuries. Each piece comes out of a single hide and is cut by hand. The stitching stays visible, so it can be redone. Leather tanned this way can be fed and dyed again, and a piece made like this is meant to be repaired rather than replaced.
